7 Days Mini Bake Rolls Garlic

Back in 2015 the Reluctant Taste Testers and I tried 7 Days Bake Rolls garlic flavour. And they are pretty fabulous. And tasty.

But here we have a mini version. The mini bake rolls are far smaller than the usual size which is fine, but what is not fine is that the taste seems a lot less. Maybe it was just this packet, but they weren’t very flavourful. So I would buy the regular size.

The Chef was disappointed. He hadn’t noticed he’d bought a mini size.

7Days Bake Rolls Salt

We had left over guacamole from the other night's chicken tortillas (possibly as unauthentic as can be but the Chef has lived in Mexico) so the Chef said he'd buy some crisps to eat it with. I suggested Bake Rolls but apparently the Garlic flavour which the Chef likes best sells out really quickly and they don't get more Garlic Bake Rolls until all the other flavours like Pizza and Mushrooms & Cream ones have gone too.

But he went down the road anyway and came home with this packet of Salt flavour. Which sounds rather dull doesn't it? I mean... just Salt? However, since there was nothing else in the house suitable for scooping up guacamole, we tucked in. And were pleasantly surprised.
Tasty. A very nice combination of saltiness and fabulous crispy baked taste. It's a shame that guacamole isn't very photogenic but then green gloop rarely is, but I think we can recommend this crispy snack as one of those that don't seem to taste of much while at the same time tasting very good indeed. And just the job for scooping up a dip.

7Days Bake Rolls Mushrooms & Cream

A new flavour for the reluctant taste testers from the ever popular Bulgarian manufacturer of crispy snacks 7Days. We rather like Bake Rolls and were pleased to try this mushroom & cream flavour. Although the Senior taste tester has once more registered his displeasure because this is not a crisp. No! It's a crispy snack. And none the worse for that.

Tall taste tester found this packet in his corner shop which used to sell fish and reptiles. And pet food. And he said he really liked this flavour and recommended it to us.

Well, it seems that most of the taste testers rather enjoyed this flavour. Mushrooms on toast suggested Dutch taste tester. She says she likes the taste of mushrooms but not always the texture (I know what she means; they can be a bit flabby or slimy sometimes) but this crunchy mushroom flavour gives you the taste without the flab.

Even Senior Archive taste tester, an occasional visitor, was pleased to approve this crispy snack which she had never seen before. A convert perhaps?

For myself, I couldn't work out why I wasn't so keen as everyone else. And then I read the list of ingredients. Celery. And once I knew there was celery in the flavour I could taste it and smell it. And you know I cannot tolerate celery. But that's just me.

So you might really enjoy this flavour. Bake Rolls generally are very good with a great crunch. A top quality product.

Once again, who knew Bulgaria produced such tasty crispy snacks? Mind you, perhaps the Bulgarians feel the same about the British.

7Days Bake Rolls Bacon

Hurrah! At last our local early morning/late night/all day Turkish shop has opened its big new store. Moving about 3 doors to the left this really good food shop now has at least twice as much room and has sprouted lots of exciting new stock. Including, you will perhaps not be surprised to leant, quite a lot of interesting crispy snacks. So I bought 3 packets. Don't want to get over excited.

We've tried 3 different flavours of 7Days Bake Rolls before (Garlic, Pizza, and Tomato, Olive & Oregano) and liked them a lot. Standing in the shop I couldn't quite remember which ones had seen the reluctant taste tester treatment but I was fairly sure we hadn't essayed the bacon flavour before. Luckily I was right.

And what a great crispy snack this is. Modelled I suppose on slices of bagel this is a very crunchy crispy snack with the flavour mysteriously on one side only. Sadly you do see a lot of breakages but that does not affect the taste.

Lovely, was what we thought. A very nice bacony taste. We enjoyed these a lot and decided we didn't mind at all about the broken bits. Such a good taste, who cares about the shape?

This product seems to be available in the UK, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. A slightly odd selection of countries but again who cares? You can buy them in our local shop.

7Days Bake Rolls Tomato Olive & Oregano

So here we have the third packet of Bake Rolls bought by the tall taste tester from his local corner shop (which used to sell fish and reptiles). This was kind of him because he is currently on sabbatical and not able to take part in the taste testing.

And I can report that the reluctant taste testers loved this crispy snack. We (all of us that I talked to) just loved it. Very tasty. And the bowlful didn't last very long. So those who said they would try one at the end of the day were disappointed.

The tomato (as so often) isn't so much a taste of tomato but more a tomato sauce or soup or something, but the addition of the olive gives a wonderful hit of umami. I am sure there is oregano in there somewhere but it doesn't leap out and grab you.

The combination of these flavours is extremely good. And together with the fabulous crunch of the Bake Roll you get a great crispy snack.

Yes, we have a success.

The senior taste tester liked them so much he is planning a raid on the ex-fish and reptile shop to stock up on this crispy snack. And possibly check to see if there is another flavour to try...
And here we have a few more photographs of rhododendrons. Because they looked so wonderful and I took a lot of pictures.

7Days Bake Rolls Pizza

Another packet of crispy Bake Rolls contributed by the tall taste tester who is now on a short sabbatical (probably weeding his garden even as we speak), and thus missing the opportunity to taste test.

I have to admit I find Pizza a difficult flavour for a packet of crisps or crispy snacks. I've now tried several pizza flavours and I'm not sure that any of them seemed completely convincing.

As before these Bake Rolls are extremely crispy, and unfortunately somewhat broken so you don't get very many that look like the photograph. I suppose with such crispiness you get a brittle quality; and thus a snack more likely to break.

We felt that the taste was perhaps akin to a mass produced pizza from the freezer cabinet in the supermarket. Something about that not quite right tomato sauce.

On the other hand the not quite right tomato sauce is quite moreish. And we rather felt that having another Bake Roll (or piece of same) wouldn't be such a bad idea. And possibly another one. So in fact we finished the packet with no difficulty.

Not (in my view) as nice as the Garlic flavour which we tried earlier this month, but not bad either.

You might perhaps like to see what I had to say about other pizza flavour crispy snacks: Bret's Pizza au Feu de Bois from France, Calbee Pizza Chips from Japan, Pai d'Oro Anellini Gusto Pizza from Itlay, and Bissli Pizza flavoured Wheat Snacks from Israel.
