Good Boy Wagtastic Chewy Chicken Flavour Chips

New taste tester Milo tested this doggy snack today. Not strictly a crispy snack, in fact, let's be honest; it's a chewy snack. Apparently it was a great success.

Milo is new to taste testing. He is the new companion to Noble Friend following the sad and sudden loss of taste tester Honey this summer. I'm sure you can tell he is a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and extremely handsome with it. But not very good at sitting still.

It looked at first as though he was chewing a very thin piece of wood but it seems to be a thin strip of reconstituted chicken breast. But also includes "pea protein" whatever that means, and perfect for dogs with sensitive tummies. Weirdly you shouldn't give one to your dog to eat if the floor will stain easily. Let's hope our floor will be OK.

And indeed there was so much enjoyment, so much enthusiastic chewing that it was very hard to take a good picture of Milo. But perhaps that's not such a bad thing and we can maintain his anonymity. The other reluctant taste testers don't get photographed after all, and we don't want Milo being mobbed in the street.

Here's another doggy treat tried out for us by Taste Tester Honey. And she does love them.

These treats look creepily like those cheese wrapped up in parma ham snacks you sometimes get at a party. But they're a whole lot chewier than that. Because they are chewy I wonder are they intended to last a little while? Honey polishes hers off in no time at all. I'm not sure it qualifies even as a little while.

Taste Tester Honey had an operation recently and you can still see the place where the vet shaved her ankle  to put a drip in. It was touch and go for a while but don't worry crisp fans; Honey is just fine now.

Purina Bakers Whirlers with Tasty Bacon & Cheese Flavour

This is not so reluctant taste tester Frieda. She was testing bacon & cheese flavour Whirlers today.

The pack claims these chewy twists of bacon and cheese flavour yumminess are irresistible. And that does in fact seem to be the case. Frieda was pretty impressed and the tasty morsel lasted not so long as a chocolate éclair. 

Frieda was rather taken with Whirlers. She spent a long time pointing at the bag which was sitting on Noble Friend's desk. Not so reluctant taste tester Honey likes them a lot too.

I have to say that I am not convinced that this here is a crispy snack. I'm pretty certain it's more of a chewy.... chew. But do admit it is rather a handsome chewy... chew.

Noble Friend tells me that this doggy snack is taste tester Honey's absolute favourite. And therefore this snack should be advertised to the world.

OK then. To please Noble Friend. Taste tester Honey has a problem with her joints. Not sure if it is rheumatism or arthritis or what, but Honey needs regular physiotherapy which she does not enjoy. This chewy snack is so highly recommended because it keeps Honey occupied while her therapist works on whatever problem it is. There is, it seems, nothing that occupies taste tester Honey like this chewy chew.

If I tell you that the packaging shown here is only about ¾ of the original length, and Honey gets through about ½ a chew per physio session, you will see why Noble Friend (and Honey) are so keen on this product.

If you are a taste testing dog try this now. If you're a human, perhaps not.

Purina DeliBakie Oven-Baked Stars Cheese & Beef

Taste tester Honey highly recommends this fancy star-shaped snack. Goodness only knows why Purina thought it a good plan to produce doggy snacks in a star shape: I am sure Honey only cares about the taste. However, there's no denying, they do look rather smart.

And check out the name. This doggy snack sounds (reads) just like a human snack. DeliBakie (from the delicatessen perhaps?), Oven-Baked (speaks for itself) and then beef and cheese flavour. I have to say they do smell pretty good.

But. But they are for dogs.

Pedigree Tasty Bites Cheesy Nibbles

Taste tester Honey loves these little cheesy nibbles from Pedigree. Packed with Omega 3, vitamins and minerals, and with no artificial colouring (you can see I am reading the packaging) these Tasty Bites are treat sized so you can tempt (or bribe) your dog without feeling too guilty.

I learn that Honey is an experienced taste tester. Her favourite "Peamutt Biscuits" made with Duerr's Peamutt Butter (a special peanut butter made with dogs in mind) feature in Mrs Duerr's Kitchen on the Duerr's website.

And now for something completely different: this wagtastic yummy dog treat comes highly recommended by Honey, companion to Noble Friend. 

Could this be a doggy treat? Could be. What gave it away?

Honey is a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and a discerning judge in matters of taste. She's not picky we understand, but she does like the tasty things in life. Don't we all?

I have not tried these wagtastic treats myself, and Honey cannot be described as a reluctant taste tester so I can definitively say that the reluctant taste testers haven't tried it either. But we think Honey approves. And I am sure that swish swoosh, they get her tail wagging.
